A chance to train Full-time in Ireland with a WEST END and BROADWAY faculty.
The James Huish Academy of Theatre Arts is now affiliated with The American Musical Theatre Academy (London, New York, Rome). At the JH Academy students under 19 are receiving top quality part-time training. But what if they want to continue their training after that? Until now their only option to train full-time with industry professionals was to go to London or New York. Not anymore. London and New York are coming to Belfast!
Kenneth Avery-Clark Co-founder of AMTA has chosen Belfast as their fourth location for an Academy.
September 2018 will see AMTA Belfast begin its full-time 2 year training program, sharing space with the James Huish Academy of Theatre Arts. The program will be offered at less than half the cost of similar London Programs but will offer the same quality training and industry knowledge held within the wider AMTA Global Academies. This means that, aside from benefitting from reduced fees, students can live at home and beat the high cost of living in London.
The affiliation with James Huish and the incredible talent Kenneth has seen in Belfast whilst conducting masterclasses was an opportunity he could not walk away from. When announcing this new and exciting opportunity for the young performers of Belfast Kenneth said, “I want young people to be able to realise their dreams. Musical Theatre is a massive, international industry and EVERYONE who wants to be a part of it should be able to receive quality training at their doorstep. This is going to be a great partnership and a great opportunity”.
With the massive success of AMTA graduates working all over the world, including a graduate who is currently starring as Eponine in Les Miserables in London’s West End, it’s no surprise the brand is growing.
Applications are now open for the Belfast campus of AMTA, prospective students have the choice of auditioning in person at AMTA Belfast or via self-tape uploaded to www.theamta.com
